Miami's Best Fishing Charters — Saltwater, Freshwater & Lobster Netting

Miami is one of the most extraordinary fishing destinations in the world — and most people only ever see half of it. TikiFish Adventures was built to change that. Captain Jose Rodriguez offers a range of guided fishing charters in Miami that cover both sides of the city's remarkable aquatic ecosystem — from the snook-stacked mangrove edges of Biscayne Bay to the peacock bass-filled canals running through Miami-Dade County. Whether you're visiting Miami for a week or you've lived here your whole life and never dropped a line, TikiFish Adventures delivers a fishing experience that is personal, fully equipped, and genuinely worth your time.

Every TikiFish Adventures charter is capped at four guests. That is not a limitation — it is a commitment. Captain Jose's focus stays entirely on your group from the moment you leave the dock to the moment you return. All rods, reels, tackle, live bait, ice, water, and fishing licenses are included on every trip, for every guest. There is nothing to rent, nothing to purchase, and nothing to prepare beyond showing up ready to fish.

Miami has no shortage of fishing charter operators. What it has very little of is a single captain offering both freshwater and saltwater experiences, day and night options, and the kind of hands-on, small-group instruction that makes a fishing trip memorable rather than just adequate. That is what TikiFish Adventures is.

Daytime Inshore Saltwater Fishing

Miami's inshore saltwater fishery is world-class, and daytime conditions put your group in front of snook, redfish, tarpon, seatrout, and more across the shallow flats, mangrove edges, and tidal channels of Biscayne Bay. Captain Jose runs daytime inshore charters aboard a 2016 Key West Bay Reef 210 — a 21-foot shallow-draft center console built specifically for these environments. All gear, live bait, and Florida saltwater fishing licenses for up to four guests are included on every trip.

Nighttime Inshore Saltwater Fishing

After dark, Miami's inshore waters become some of the most productive fishing environments in South Florida. Snook stage under lighted docks and bridges, tarpon feed through tidal channels, and the boat traffic that disrupts daytime fishing disappears entirely. TikiFish Adventures nighttime inshore charters target the species that are most active after sunset — with Captain Jose navigating to the specific structures and channels where fish are feeding based on current tide and conditions. All equipment and licenses are included.

Lobster Bully Netting — Night Charters

Florida spiny lobster bully netting is one of the most hands-on, participatory water experiences available in Miami — and one of the most memorable. After dark, spiny lobster move out of their daytime shelter into the shallow grass flats and sandy bottom areas of Miami's inshore system, where they are located using underwater lighting and harvested using a tickle stick and bully net. Captain Jose coaches every guest through the technique, and all netting equipment, lighting, and lobster licenses are included. Bully netting charters operate during Florida's designated lobster season.

Daytime Freshwater Fishing

Miami sits on top of one of the most underrated freshwater fishing environments in Florida — a canal system and network of lakes that host butterfly peacock bass, Florida largemouth bass, oscar, Mayan cichlid, and more. TikiFish Adventures daytime freshwater charters give your group access to this overlooked fishery, including the butterfly peacock bass — one of the most aggressive and visually striking freshwater gamefish available anywhere in the continental United States. All rods, tackle, live bait, and Florida freshwater licenses are included for up to four guests.

About Captain Jose Rodriguez

TikiFish Adventures is built around one captain — Jose Rodriguez — and the direct, personal experience he brings to every charter. Captain Jose operates on Miami's inshore saltwater waters and freshwater canal system with the kind of localized knowledge that only comes from spending real time on these specific bodies of water across seasons, tides, and conditions. He knows where the snook stage after dark in October, where the peacock bass hold during the summer heat, and which flats produce redfish on an incoming tide in the spring.

The TikiFish Adventures vessel is a 2016 Key West Bay Reef 210 — a 21-foot center console powered by a 150 horsepower Yamaha engine. This boat is purpose-built for Miami's inshore environment, drawing the minimal draft needed to access shallow flats and mangrove edges while delivering a stable, comfortable platform for up to four guests across day and night charters.
